As a result of the explosion in the “Surmalu” shopping center, the number of victims has reached 16, Ministry of Emergency Situation reports.

The department’s report states that as of August 16, at 08:12, firefighting and search and rescue operations are ongoing. The identities of 10 of the 16 victims have not yet been identified. There is one pregnant woman and a small child among them.

60 citizens applied to medical centers in Yerevan city, 12 of them continue to receive treatment, and the remaining 48, having received appropriate medical care, were discharged.

18 citizens are considered missing.

Let’s remind that on August 14, at 1:23 p.m., the National Crisis Management Center was alerted that there was an explosion and a fire in the “Surmalu” shopping center located at 15 Arshakunyats Street in Yerevan, as a result of which the three-story building partially collapsed.
