tert.am: Moscow expects that at the next meeting of the Russia-Azerbaijan-Armenia working group, it will be possible to reach a package of agreement on the construction of roads, focusing on the launch of rail and road connections between Azerbaijan and Armenia, with possible access to neighboring countries. As RIA “Novosti” informs, this was announced by the director of the fourth department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Denis Gonchar.
The new road connecting Armenia and Artsakh through the Lachin Corridor will start operating on April 1. According to Gonchar, since August 30, the traffic is running on a temporary road bypassing Lachin (Berdzor).
“It is of fundamental importance that the mode of operation of the Lachin Corridor will not change. Russian peacekeepers have moved to the temporary road, and they will cross the new route by April 1, 2023,” Gonchar said.
