Sharp issues will be put on the negotiating table and discussed, the head of the Commission on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of Armenia said on the eve of the meeting of the heads of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“Of course, the situation that precedes this meeting is not the best, to put it mildly, and, naturally, during this meeting very painful and sharp issues should be put on the table, and the parties will try to smooth out these sharp points and try to move forward, which, to put it mildly, will not be easy, but this is our expectation,” Eduard Aghajanyan said.
The Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting will take place tomorrow amid the tense atmosphere in Artsakh in recent weeks: the Azerbaijani side, violating the agreements, invaded the territories controlled by the peacekeepers, as a result of which three servicemen on the Armenian side were killed.
Earlier, Yerevan considered Baku’s proposal to recognize each other’s territorial integrity acceptable, noting, however, that the five points put forward by Azerbaijan are incomplete and should be supplemented.
