The authorities of the partially recognized Republic of Kosovo and Metohija have postponed the procedure of imposing a ban on Serbian documents for one month, until September 1.
They have demanded the removal of all barricades and full freedom of movement in northern Kosovo.
On July 31, the Serbian population of the Republic of Kosovo and Metohija held protests on the main highways of the region, started building barricades, and several dozen people blocked the main road Pristina-Raska.
As TASS reports, in his address to the people, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that the situation in Kosovo and Metohija has become extremely complicated for the Serbs. He warned about Pristina’s plans to invalidate Serbian documents from August 1.
Albin Kurti, the Prime Minister of the partially recognized country, announced earlier that Serbs living in the region need to re-register their cars in accordance with the norms of the unrecognized country until September 30. In turn, Vučić said that from September 30, Pristina plans to ban the entry of Serbian internal documents, as well as vehicles with license plates issued by the Serbian authorities.
