The RA human rights defender’s office will publish an extraordinary report in the near future, presenting the facts of manifestations of Armenian hatred in Azerbaijan. This was mentioned by the RA human rights defender Kristine Grigoryan during a briefing held in Gyumri on November 4, informing that the RA human rights defender’s office continues the process and work of gathering facts about the torture of prisoners of war and civilians held in Azerbaijan both by various international organizations and by various states. and with the embassies that are somewhat involved in the negotiations.
“You know that 17 people have returned, but unfortunately, at the moment we have prisoners in Azerbaijan, most of whom are from the Shirak region. Our work on gathering facts in light of international rights continues. In this regard, we are in active contact with the US Embassy and the European Union delegation to increase international pressure, which should eventually lead to the return of the boys,” said Kristine Grigoryan, informing that parallel work is being done with the families of the prisoners.
“As of now, we know the needs of almost all families: social, economic, psychological, etc. At the same time, we try to make recommendations to the government in terms of assistance, compensation, or other programs. In the near future, we will publish an extraordinary report based on our individual interviews with 17 returned prisoners of war, presenting the facts of manifestations of Armenian hatred in Azerbaijan. The report will be presented to the international community. These works should not stop,” said Kristine Grigoryan, noting that in Azerbaijan, in addition to the confirmed prisoners, there are also other prisoners whose presence in Azerbaijan is denied by the authorities of that country, although there is sufficient evidence that these persons are held captive in Azerbaijan.
The Armenian HRD notes with regret that Azerbaijan continues its aggressive anti-Armenian and war-mongering policy, which makes the work of Armenia and various international organizations more difficult.
