PM Nikol Pashinyan and National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan sent congratulatory messages on the Independence Declaration Day of Armenia

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the RA Declaration of Independence.

“Dear people, dear compatriots,

Today marks the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the RA Independence Declaration.  The Declaration adopted by the Supreme Council on August 23, 1991, states that the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic is beginning the process of establishing an independent state.

That started process de jure ended with the independence referendum on September 21, 1991, and the recognition of the Republic of Armenia by the international community.  De facto, that process has not ended until today, not because we don’t have independence, but because independence is like health, which even if you have it, you have to take care of every day.

The government is fighting for the independence of the Republic of Armenia every day.”

National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan also sent a congratulatory message on the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia.

“Dear compatriots,

When the Declaration adopted by the Supreme Council on August 23, 1990, marked the beginning of the process of establishing an independent state, the entire country, which became one family, was in indescribable excitement. In the order of historical development, what was defined by the Declaration was confirmed by the independence referendum of September 21, 1991, and the recognition of the Republic of Armenia.

The declaration was also the permission to develop our Constitution, which was implemented.

Evaluating our achievements over the years and the values brought by the Declaration, it becomes clear that independence is an earned gift, which is more binding after receiving it. Each day is imperative to maintain independence, evidence to strengthen it, never-ending effort, and unwavering vigilance.

We will continue to fight against the small and big attempts from different sides that threaten independence with our lasting persistence, the legacy of not giving up, and the ability to stand head-on.

Armenia” alliance claims it will start the process of impeaching the Prime Minister when there are sufficient grounds for its success

The “Armenia” alliance issued a statement claiming it will start the process of impeaching the Prime Minister only when there are sufficient grounds for its success.

“There are two ways to remove this power – resignation, and dismissal through parliament.

Any of these two options will succeed only through a widespread protest because these are anti-Armenian authorities.

If we don’t have that image, that is, the large protest, then neither the resignation nor the dismissal will work,” the statement reads.

A rally held in Republic Square with the demand for PM Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation

We have no plans to bring people to protests every day. We have organized it in such a way as to cause minimal discomfort to the participants of the rally. There will be no march today. The organizer of the rally in Republic Square, the former head of the Supreme Court’s staff, Edgar Ghazaryan said.
