Germany would like to participate in the observation mission in Armenia – German MFA

Germany would like to participate in the observation mission in Armenia and plans to suggest its experts for the work starting in November, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany announced.

“The Federal Government strives for Germany to participate in the observation mission in Armenia and may come up with a proposal to send experts, starting from November,” said the representative of the German Foreign Ministry.

According to him, the decision of who exactly will be involved in the process will be made by the leadership of the mission, depending on the specific needs.

The European Union has decided to send a 40-person observation mission to Armenia, which will be stationed at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

Iran will not allow its communication route with Armenia to be blocked, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said.

“Iran will not allow its communication route with Armenia to be blocked, and in order to achieve that goal the Islamic Republic of Iran has also started military exercises in this region”, IRNA quoted the Iranian FM as saying.

RA Human Rights Defender received videos of alleged war crimes from Toivo Klaar

RA Human Rights Defender Christine Grigoryan received the videos mentioned by her earlier on Twitter from Toivo Klaar, the Special Representative of the European Union, the Human Rights Defender’s office informs in response to Factor.am’s question.

“Regarding those videos, the Human Rights Council has requested clarifications from the law enforcement agencies,” the organization elaborates, stressing that the institution of the Ombudsman was informed in 2021 that after the 44-day war of 2020, criminal cases were initiated by the law enforcement agencies of Armenia in relation with the facts of war crimes.

Earlier, Kristine Grigoryan asked Toivo Klaar, the special representative for the crisis in the South Caucasus and Georgia, to provide her with videos, which, according to Klaar’s post, “may testify to the torture or desecration of the bodies of Azerbaijani prisoners.”

It should be reminded that on October 2, a video was spread on the Internet, in which it was seen how Azerbaijani soldiers shoot unarmed Armenian prisoners.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh and Ruben Vardanyan discussed issues related to the settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict

On October 19, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh Republic Davit Babayan received philanthropist, social and political figure Ruben Vardanyan.

This was reported by the Artsakh MFA, noting that on the same day Ruben Vardanyan’s meeting and discussion with the MFA’s central apparatus employees also took place.

A wide range of issues related to Artsakh’s foreign policy, regional processes, and settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict was discussed.

Davit Babayan welcomed Ruben Vardanyan’s decision to move to Artsakh and take a direct part in the development and strengthening of Artsakh, emphasizing the importance of that decision from political and moral perspectives.

The minister expressed his gratitude to Ruben Vardanyan for always supporting Artsakh and emphasized the need for the active involvement of figures with an Artsakh-centric approach and national mentality in this challenging period.

Artsakh authorities are committed to the goal of achieving international recognition of Artsakh’s independence – President of Artsakh

On October 18, the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, met with the deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh,  Office of the Artsakh President reports.

The details of the meetings in Yerevan were presented to the National Assembly. President Harutyunyan and the members of the delegation answered the questions of the deputies, which mainly related to the ongoing negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and their influence on Artsakh.

Answering the questions, President Harutyunyan once again confirmed that the authorities of Artsakh are committed to the goal of achieving international recognition of the independence of Artsakh through the realization of the right of self-determination of the people of Artsakh.

Azerbaijan has been hindering search operations until now. Spokesman of the RA Ministry of Defense

Until now, the Azerbaijani side is hindering the implementation of search operations in the occupied territories of the Republic of Armenia, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense Aram Torosyan mentioned, answering the question of whether it is clear when the search operations will begin, in which directions, and why it was not possible to start this work until now.

Torosyan said that the Armenian government, and the Ministry of Defense, with the involvement of mediators and international partners, are carrying out daily work in this direction.

“Some preliminary agreements have been reached with the Azerbaijani side in this regard. We should also record that until this moment, the Azerbaijani side is obstructing the implementation of search operations in the occupied territories of Armenia,” Torosyan said.

In Astana, on October 14, during the regular session of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Azerbaijan is still preventing the removal of the bodies of those who died during the latest aggression.
