The units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces violated the ceasefire by first firing at each other and then at the Armenian positions

As a result of the night observation and analysis of the service of the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the combat contact line, specifically in the Sotk-Kutakan section, it was found that their units violate the ceasefire by first firing at each other and then at the Armenian positions, the spokesperson of RA Ministry of Defense reports.

Thus, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan first creates the impression that the Armenian side is firing in the direction of its bases and then begins to open fire in the direction of the Armenian positions from rifle weapons of different calibers, as if in response to the fire opened by the Armenian side.

Norwegian Foreign Minister visits Armenia

On October 18, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan received the delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Anniken Huitfeldt, who is on an official visit to Armenia.

The parties discussed issues of mutual interest. The conversation was mainly about Armenian democracy and the necessary conditions contributing to its development.

The Speaker of the RA National Assembly presented information on the consequences of the latest manifestation of Azerbaijani aggression, noting that the withdrawal of the Azerbaijani armed forces from the territory of Armenia is a priority.

Alen Simonyan expressed hope that Norway, as a leading country in the field of human rights protection, will be consistent in condemning the war crimes committed by the Azerbaijani armed forces, their fair trial, and the punishment of the culprits.

The importance of parliamentary diplomacy was also discussed at the meeting, thanks to which countries manage to raise issues that require quick solutions on the political and international platforms. 

Later, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Anniken Huitfeldt.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of Mrs. Huitfeldt’s visit to Armenia, which will give a new impetus to the development and expansion of Armenian-Norwegian political, economic, and humanitarian ties. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of the Norwegian side’s clear and targeted position regarding Azerbaijan’s aggression towards the sovereign territory of Armenia.

Nikol Pashinyan added that the EU observation mission is already in Armenia, and the issue of sending the OSCE observation mission to our country is also under discussion.

The Prime Minister detailed the positions of the Armenian side regarding the elimination of the consequences of Azerbaijani aggression, the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, and the protection of the rights and security of our compatriots in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The Foreign Minister of Norway expressed his country’s support for the protection of Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the reform agenda for strengthening democracy in our country. Anniken Hütfeldt presented her impressions of her visit to Armenia and talked about the results of the negotiations with the RA Foreign Minister, evaluating them as effective and useful. He expressed hope that Armenian-Norwegian ties will record new progress and be strengthened. The interlocutors also exchanged ideas on regional and international agenda issues.

The Norwegian diplomat also met Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan, who presented the details of the peace treaty development work. They discussed the situation created after the latest Azerbaijani aggression towards the sovereign territory of RA.

 

Suren Papikyan met with the Defense Minister of India

As part of his working visit to India, RA Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with Indian Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, RA Ministry of Defense reports.
 
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation, the possibilities of expanding cooperation, a number of issues of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation were discussed.
 
The Minister of Defense of RA presented the situation created as a result of the recent aggression of Azerbaijan and thanked for India’s clear position in international courts.
 
At the end of the meeting, Suren Papikyan invited his colleague to visit Armenia on an official visit.
