1061 rescuers took part in firefighting and rescue operations in “Surmalu”, 10 victims were taken out of the rubble
1061 rescue workers from the territorial and structural units of the Rescue Service of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations took turns participating in firefighting and search and rescue operations in the “Surmalu” shopping center between August 14 and 18. The rescuers took out 10 victims from the rubble.
62 citizens applied to medical centers in Yerevan city, 4 continue receiving treatment, and the rest received appropriate medical care and were discharged.
As a result of the calls received to the 911 hotline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the following citizens can be considered missing in the territory of the “Surmalu” shopping center:
1. Gagik Karapetyan, born in 1959.
2. Vanik Amirkhanyan, born in 1967.
As of 19:00, the spokesman of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Hayk Kostanyan informed that one of the wanted people is the one who, unfortunately, has died.
“There are two missing people, but we are actually looking for one citizen at the moment. Samples have been taken from family members, within a few days we will have identification, so one of the two people being sought is the person who, unfortunately, has died. In that sense, we are currently looking for one citizen,” he said.
Later, the Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Pambukhchyan met the son and relatives of Vanik Amirkhanyan, who is considered missing.
A new agreement was signed between Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey within the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project
The governments of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey have signed an agreement on the electronic exchange of primary data to simplify transit customs procedures within the framework of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project.
The document was signed between the governments of the three countries within the framework of the session of the tripartite commission on customs issues, which took place on August 18 in Baku.
