Nikol Pashinyan’s interview with the Public Television of Armenia
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had an interview with the Public Television of Armenia, during which he referred to a number of questions related to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and much more.
“If the Nagorno-Karabakh issue has been resolved, why do the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh not feel it? We said and we say that the NK issue was never a territorial issue, but rather that our foreign policy was not able to present this context to the international community,” he said.
According to the Prime Minister, the rights and security of NK Armenians must be addressed.
“If we mutually accept the border of 1991, it is already established that Azerbaijan has occupied our territories because the border of 1991 is not a theoretical phenomenon, the whole world knows where that border passes. Those are the administrative borders of the Soviet Union, which are known to everyone. Due to that fact, it is recorded that Azerbaijan has occupied our territories, and if it recognizes it, and it is recorded that it recognizes it, it should leave those territories, especially since in terms of further discussions, it was recorded that on that basis it should Delimitation of the borders will take place,” Pashinyan said.
According to Pashinyan, it was in this context that the decision to send the EU observation mission took place in Prague.
Answering the questions of the Public Television of Armenia, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred to the statements of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and answered the question of whether Baku’s failure to fulfill the agreements is a prelude to discrediting the mediation efforts and starting a new war.
“We cannot just accept the fact that the next milestone is a new escalation. What I am trying to do in practice is to first understand the content on which Azerbaijan is trying to build a precondition for a new escalation. And the best way to do this, I think, is to take inventory and adjust the agreements that Azerbaijan is trying to accuse us of not fulfilling. We are talking about the agreements that are recorded in writing because even if there are oral discussions, they should be expressed in the texts that are published as a result of discussions held at high levels,” said the Prime Minister.
Pashinyan reminded that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan issued a new statement and emphasized its content.
Armenian PM also referred to the recent meeting in Brussels and his famous expression “Artsakh is Armenia, and that’s it.”
