Aliyev claims the “peace treaty” between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be based on 5 principles proposed by Baku and accepted by Yerevan

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that the practical negotiations between the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the “peace treaty” will be based on the five principles proposed by Baku and accepted by Yerevan.

“These five principles include recognition of the territorial integrity of both countries, mutual renunciation of territorial claims, non-use of force or threat of force, demarcation of borders, and opening of communications.

These principles were proposed to Armenia by Azerbaijan. The Prime Minister of Armenia accepted them. This was also confirmed two days ago during our meeting in Brussels,” Aliyev claimed.

The armed forces of Azerbaijan opened fire in the direction of the RA Ministry of Defense vehicle

Today, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border zone in the direction of the RA Ministry of Defense vehicle, the Ministry of Defense reports. The Armenian side had no loss.  

Jalal Harutyunyan charged, his tenure was suspended

As a result of the large-scale investigative and administrative operations carried out within the framework of the criminal proceedings investigated in the Department of Investigation of Specially Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee, it was found that a military leader with the rank of Lieutenant-General Jalal Harutyunyan (former commander of the Artsakh Armed Forces). During the aggressive war unleashed and waged by the military-political leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan, under the conditions of the declared martial law, he showed a negligent attitude towards his official duties, not performing them and performing them improperly, causing serious consequences: local units suffered massive losses of manpower and military equipment, reserve units became uncombatable, occupied firing positions were under the control of the enemy.

 

Armenian and Russian FMs discuss the implementation of the Nagorno Karabakh agreements

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed the course of implementation of the trilateral agreements ( 2020 November 9, 2021, January 11, and November 26) on Nagorno Karabakh and prospects during a September 1 phone call, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

“An agreement was reached to continue contacts soon,” the Russian foreign ministry added in the readout.
