Ambassador-at-large Edmon Marukyan commented on Azeri presidential assistant Hikmet Hajiyev’s statement falsely claiming that Azerbaijan has not closed the Lachin Corridor and the ICRC has unhindered access.

Marukyan said that by this statement Hajiyev only reaffirmed that Nagorno Karabakh is in a deep humanitarian crisis, the Lachin Corridor is blocked and only the Red Cross has access.

“Hikmet Hajiyev shows the ICRC vehicles passing through the Lachin Corridor. Azerbaijani leadership by drumming it up as an act of humanism, confirms that Nagorno Karabakh is in a deep humanitarian crisis, the Lachin Corridor is blocked by Azerbaijan and ONLY Red Cross has access,” Marukyan tweeted.
