Daily attacks by the Azerbaijani army into Armenian sovereign territory are well documented by the recently deployed EU Monitoring Capacity in Armenia, Edmon Marukyan, RA ambassador-at-large, wrote about this on Twitter.

“The mission will make it clear for EU and others that attacks are unprovoked and are well-planned terror by Azerbaijan towards Armenian statehood,” Marukyan wrote.

It should be reminded that on October 6, the four-way meeting of Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev, Emmanuel Macron, and Charles Michel took place in Prague. A statement was adopted as a result of the meeting, according to which, Armenia and Azerbaijan recognize each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. Armenia also expressed its agreement to encourage the EU civilian mission along the border with Azerbaijan.

The purpose of the mission will be to build confidence and support the border commissions through its reports.
