In the territory of the “Surmalu” shopping center, the MES rescue service is focusing its attention on the area from where the citizen’s voice was heard. RA Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Pambukhchyan stated in a conversation with journalists that as of 21:00, no citizen has been taken out from under the rubbles.

“Incorrect information has been shared in the last hour. I must say that, unfortunately, so far, the rescuers have not brought out any citizens. Currently, our officers have concentrated their forces in that area and are carrying out search and rescue operations, using special equipment. In the case of each such reaction, we concentrate on the appropriate forces. An ambulance was on the scene. As you know, such minutes can be decisive, therefore we concentrate all our efforts to provide correct and timely medical care if necessary,” the minister stated.

Armen Pamboukhchyan told that the works will go on throughout the night. The lifeguards work without pause. 

“Every second is important to us. We will work all night, after a while there will be replenishment of equipment and a shift will be made. We have no shortage of rescuers. As of 21:00, 22 citizens are considered missing,” he said.
