President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev announced that Azerbaijan and Armenia can prepare and sign a peace treaty within a few months.
“I think we can finish the work and sign a peace agreement within a few months,” Aliyev said in an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, according to Interfax.
Aliyev considered one of the most important results of the negotiations with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held in Brussels on August 31, through the mediation of the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, the agreement of the meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan in order to start negotiations on a peace agreement.
According to Aliyev, the peace agreement will be built on five main principles. He claims that the Armenian side accepted them.
