It is possible that there will be a meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan by the end of the month. Today, on December 7, NA Speaker Alen Simonyan told reporters in the National Assembly.
When asked whether Armenia agreed to Azerbaijan’s demand that French President Emmanuel Macron should not be present at the meeting, Alain Simonyan said: “There is no information about where it will be, but we are not shaped by the option of meeting only in Brussels. We are ready for any meaningful discussion. You know that the meeting of the deputy prime ministers took place yesterday, and an agreement was reached regarding the next meeting.
Regarding the meeting of the heads of state, we still do not have any specific information, but I repeat, there is no limit to Brussels.”
Let’s remind that It should be reminded that a meeting was scheduled for December 7 in Brussels, which, however, will not take place.
“The meeting in Brussels was supposed to take place on December 7, but yesterday Hikmet Hajiyev [Azerbaijani president’s assistant] informed me that he was contacted by Charles Michel’s office and informed that Nikol Pashinyan agreed to the meeting only if he participated in it President Emmanuel Macron. This means that this meeting will not take place,” Aliyev said.
The RA Foreign Ministry responded to the statement of the President of Azerbaijan, stating that RA is ready for the meeting on December 7, according to the agreement and format reached in Prague, which took place in a quadrilateral format, and it is logical that the format of the meeting and the composition of the participants should be the same.
