The Iranian side is against the presence of foreign representatives in the region.  Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian announced this at a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

 “The Iranian side is against the presence of foreign representatives in the region, both on the territory of Armenia and Azerbaijan.  The activity of internal representatives in the region, such as the “3+3″ platform, is very important for us.  I must mention that the Iranian side will not accept any change in geographical and historical borders.  it is our red line, and we will take all the steps that will confront such a thought,” declared the Iranian Foreign Minister.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian answered the journalist’s question at a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, what will be the role of the Iranian side in resolving this difficult situation, when Azerbaijan, despite the statements of the Iranian side, continues to make bellicose statements.

Abdollahian, answering the question, said:

“At the meeting with the official leaders of our country, the President of Azerbaijan clearly stated that they have no such intention and do not pursue and do not want to implement geographical and border changes in the region. We have issued appropriate warnings at the highest levels regarding the geopolitical and border changes in the region. The Islamic Republic of Iran has the ability to prevent and resist the implementation of any such idea,” the Iranian Foreign Minister mentioned.

Armenia and Iran share the opinion that the problems between the countries of the region should be resolved through negotiations and constructive dialogue, excluding the use of force or the threat of use of force. Armenia highly values friendly Iran’s firm and clear position regarding Armenia’s territorial integrity, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan announced at a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.

EU to provide emergency assistance for conflict-affected people in Armenia
The European Union has announced close to 118 million AMD (EUR 300,000) in emergency aid for people affected by the clashes in September, the deadliest events since the November 2020 ceasefire.

During the upcoming winter, this funding will support the most vulnerable people among the 7,600 people who fled the hostilities, the communities hosting them, and vulnerable individuals who stayed in the conflict-affected areas.

The units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of the Armenian positions

On October 20, around 4:30 pm, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire on Armenian positions located in the eastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.  This was reported by the spokesperson of the RA Ministry of Defense.

The Armenian side has no losses.  As of now, the situation is relatively stable.

In the near future, the CSTO Council will discuss the issue of providing assistance to Armenia – Zakharova

In the near future, the draft decision of the CSTO Council on joint measures to provide assistance to Armenia will be discussed. 

 “Now the issue of holding an extraordinary session of the CSTO Council in the near future is being worked out.  It is assumed that the heads of the CSTO member countries will discuss the results of the CSTO mission in Armenia in a video conference.  And the draft decision of the CSTO Council on joint measures to provide aid to Armenia should be discussed,” she said.

French Foreign Ministry responds to Aliyev’s comments

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France has responded to the statement of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev who said that French President Emmanuel Macron with his statements has erased Paris’s history of having a friendly and balanced attitude toward Baku.

“These comments in no way change France’s full commitment to making progress toward peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. It is thanks to the French president that the fourth quadripartite meeting with Charles Michel, President Aliyev, and Prime Minister Pashinyan was able to take place on October 6 on the sidelines of the European Political Community’s first summit. This meeting brought us closer to this objective, as reflected in the statement adopted on that occasion. Furthermore, France fully supports the process that is under way with the EU to negotiate a peace treaty between the two countries”, the French Foreign Ministry said.

After September 13, the bodies of 201 victims were identified, and the process is over – Minister of Health

The identification process of the bodies of servicemen who died as a result of the aggression initiated by Azerbaijan on September 13 has been completely completed, 201 bodies have been identified, RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan informed.

“The whole process of examinations has been completed. We do not have unidentified bodies. The more than 60 examinations we carried out were also taken to double and triple examinations in other countries, and all of them gave the same answer. But we have bodies that, unfortunately, have been identified, but have not yet been buried,” said Avanesyan, not wanting to talk about the reasons.
