It should be reminded that on October 12-14 RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan will be on a working visit to the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, to participate in the session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS.

Moscow sees the European Union’s repeated attempts to interfere at any cost in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and to push Russia out, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, announced this during the weekly briefing.

According to her, the European Union has not yet officially made a decision on deploying a humanitarian mission on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“The only key to the reconciliation of Baku and Yerevan, the establishment of strong peace and long-term stability in the region is the full implementation of the tripartite statements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan,” Zakharova noted, adding that Moscow maintains regular contacts with the authorities of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

According to the diplomat, the possibility of the upcoming session of the CIS foreign ministers in Astana will be used in this regard.

Çavuşoğlu claims Yerevan and Baku have agreed on the main points of the peace treaty

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that Armenia and Azerbaijan have reached an agreement on the main points of the peace agreement, and it remains to implement them.

 “An agreement was reached on the main points; there were five of them. It includes recognition of each other’s territorial integrity, demarcation of borders, etc.  All that remains is to implement them,”Çavuşoğlu said in an interview with TVnet.

According to him, the process of normalization of relations between Ankara and Yerevan and the negotiations on the peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan cannot proceed separately from each other.

“We have talked about this many times,” the Turkish Foreign Minister said.

Later Armenian Foreign Ministry responded to the Turkish FM’s statement. Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vahan Hunanyan said that the negotiations with Azerbaijan continue and that there are no developments in this regard following the statement which was released after the Prague meeting.

“Negotiations with Azerbaijan continue and there are no developments in this regard following the statement which was released after the Prague meeting. In case of new developments we will inform the public in a duly manner, just like before,” Hunanyan said.
