The units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces violated the ceasefire

On September 20, at certain intervals, the subdivisions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces violated the ceasefire, using firefighting weapons in the eastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. This was reported by the Spokesman of the Ministry of Defense Aram Torosyan.

As of 22:30, the situation is stable on the border, there are no shots.

 

CSTO Secretary-General arrives in Armenia

The CSTO delegation led by Secretary General Stanislav Zas arrived in Armenia on September 20.

The mission’s objective is to assess the situation, prepare a report for leaders of member-states and develop proposals for de-escalation of tensions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, the CSTO said in a press release.

“Over the course of the mission, actions related to studying and monitoring the current situation in border regions are planned, as well as meetings with the highest political and military leadership of the Republic of Armenia.”

After Azerbaijan attacked Armenia on September 13, Armenia officially asked the CSTO for help. The CSTO convened an emergency meeting of its Collective Security Council and decided to send an observer mission led by Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, the Chief of the Joint Staff of the CSTO, and a delegation led by Secretary General Stanislav Zas.

 

Azerbaijan hands over 95 bodies of Armenian servicemen 

The Azerbaijani side handed over bodies of Armenian servicemen to the Armenian side. The information was confirmed by Zara Amatuni, head of communication and prevention programs of the ICRC Armenian office.

It should be noted that today the State Commission for Prisoners and Missing Citizens of Azerbaijan announced that the bodies of 95 servicemen were handed over to the Armenian side.

Spokesman of the Ministry of Defense Aram Torosyan confirmed the number.

In a conversation with Armenpress.am, the spokesperson of the RA Ministry of Defense Aram Torosyan noted that the returned bodies are included in the number of 207 dead and missing persons announced by the RA Security Council.

 

Georgia ready to act as a mediator for settling the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan

As before, Georgia is ready to act as a mediator for settling the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan and offers Tbilisi as a platform for negotiations, Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili stated.

“If there is a necessity that our country is involved in the process as a mediator, we are always ready”, the Georgian FM said.

He stated that Georgia has no precondition in this regard. He said the major goal of Tbilisi is peace and stability in the region.
