Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) while speaking at the country’s Supreme Court, “Anadolu” agency reports. Erdogan, in particular, called the ECHR a politically motivated decision-making body, which is allegedly “far from the principles of justice”.

“When it comes to Turkey, politically motivated decisions are made, and when the applications of Germany or France are discussed, decisions of a completely different form are made,” Erdogan said.

In addition, he noted that the current Constitution of Turkey, which was adopted in 1982, does not meet modern challenges and should undergo a number of changes.
