As of 10:30 on August 15, firefighting and search and rescue operations are ongoing.

As of now, firefighting works are being carried out in 4 locations. 6 tractors of the municipality, 2 dump trucks, 2 water carriers, and 2 ambulance crews were also involved in the works.

As of 10:00 a.m., 21 of the 56 citizens who applied to medical centers in Yerevan continue to receive treatment, and the remaining 35, having received appropriate medical care, were discharged.

As a result of search and rescue operations, the bodies of 6 citizens were found (Misak Margaryan, born in 1964, Anahit Mkhitaryan, born in 1967, Jemma Nazaryan, born in 1960, Anahit Khalatyan, Vardan Kocharyan, born in 1960 and Gayane Avetisyan, born in 1966). 

The Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Pambukhchyan coordinates the fire fighting at the scene.

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was present at the scene.

As a result of the calls received to the 911 hotline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the following citizens can be considered missing in the territory of the “Surmalu” shopping center:

Let us remind that on August 14, at 1:23 p.m., the National Center for Crisis Management was alerted that a fire broke out in the “Surmalu” shopping center located at Arshakunyats 15, Yerevan, and the three-story building partially collapsed. As a result of the explosion, there are 6 victims, and 56 injured. 15 citizens are considered missing.
