Artsakh Foreign Minister Davit Babayan had a speech today during the rally in Stepanakert’s Revival Square.
“Dear people, I greet you all.
Just the fact that you are all standing here, the fact that tens of thousands of Artsakh citizens and Armenians have gathered here, is already a message to humanity, the international community, and different countries.
Indeed, we are living in a challenging period, we are facing ontological problems, moreover, not only Artsakh but also Mother Armenia and the Diaspora are facing similar problems. Their future depends on Artsakh and its people.
What should we do to get out of this difficult situation? The most important thing is not to be indifferent, it can destroy us.
Our future depends on each of you, victory or defeat depends on each of us.
A lot of work is being done together with all Armenians. We must be principled, we must give place to professionalism and patriotism. Any proposal or document where Artsakh will be considered a part of Azerbaijan is unacceptable to us, we will reject any such proposal.
If such a proposal is presented to us by different countries, we will consider it a gross violation of international law. Believe that we will defend Artsakh, believe that there is that potential.
Each of us now has a choice, either we should go down in history as the weakest, most undignified, most unpatriotic generation, during which the biblical Artsakh was destroyed, or we should go down in history as a principled, patriotic generation, which, regardless of difficulties, was able to save this divine land.
I am sure that we can do it because we have Yerablur, Tsitsernakaberd, we have Shushi, that is looking over us.
In the end, how will we look at our children, our elders, and our grieving mothers, how will we stand in front of the memory of our heroes, what answer will we give to God, therefore we must all know that our destiny is united. All of us will keep Artsakh together, regardless of all the difficulties and there is a chance. We highly appreciate the role of the Russian Federation in the region and the complex work of the peacekeeping mission that is being carried out. When we say that the Russian Federation and the Russian people are fraternal, we want to declare that it is not directed against any state, because we have a Diaspora,” Babayan said.
