Being a rescuer is a mission։ Armen Pambukhchyan congratulated on the Day of the Emergency Worker

Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia Armen Pambukhchyan sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Day of the MES worker.

“Dear employees, dear rescuers,

I congratulate everyone on the Day of the Emergency Worker.

Ministry of Emergency Situations has had a humanitarian mission since its creation. It includes rescue service, seismic safety, and technical safety. Over the years, the structure has gone through many trials on its way to establishment, which contributed to the establishment of the department and the formation of trust among the public.

Being a rescuer is a mission and more than once our rescuers have proven it with their dedicated work, often saving thousands of lives at the cost of their health and life. Over the years, our rescuers have improved and today they can already provide professional support to any country in a disaster, which speaks of their professional, operational, as well as moral, and psychological training, and high level of service activity.

In addition to disaster risk management and population protection, we also ensure the enjoyment of our citizens and guests on public beaches. I should happily note that for the second year already, no drowning cases have been registered in our duty area and 100 citizens have been rescued.

A few days ago, the tragic incident that took place in the “Surmalu” shopping center once again showed our society that we are able to respond appropriately, to carry out firefighting, search and rescue operations, even in the case of an unprecedented disaster. In total, 1.388 rescuers were involved in fire fighting, search and rescue operations. In the conditions of real danger of fire, rubble, and collapse of the building, our rescuers performed their official duties 24 hours a day, as a result of which we were able to save 10 people’s lives. And it is no coincidence that their superhuman efforts were once again appreciated by the citizens.

Dear rescuers and EMS employees, once again I congratulate you on the occasion of the professional holiday. Let your strength, dedication, selflessness, courage, and responsibility for the work undertaken to be the solid foundation for the safe daily life of our citizens and the motherland. When talking about the rescuer, it is impossible to refrain from the word “hero”, which is the highest assessment of the work you do,” Minister’s congratulatory message reads.
