On May 13, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan took part in a sitting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS member states in Dushanbe.

During the sitting, held in a narrow, then expanded format, the CIS foreign ministers exchanged views on issues of regional and international agenda of mutual interest, touched upon the possibilities of strengthening cooperation within the CIS. Further directions of the organization’s activities were discussed.

Minister Mirzoyan touched upon the May 12 trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan, expressing hope that it will be a step towards establishing peace and stability in the region.

Armenian Foreign Minister presented the position of the Armenian side on the comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and noted the importance of advancing the peace process under the mandate of the Minsk Group Co-chairs.
