“Due to the damage to the main gas pipeline coming from the Republic of Armenia to Artsakh, the whole territory of Artsakh is deprived of gas supply.

As a result of the investigations carried out by the staff of the Artsakh Human Rights Defender and discussions with the law enforcement bodies, it turned out that the gas pipeline was damaged in the area under the control of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. The specialists of “Artsakhgaz” CJSC and representatives of law enforcement bodies of Artsakh can not clearly state whether the accident took place due to technical reasons or as a result of the actions of the Azerbaijani side, the reason is that the Azerbaijani side obstructs the access of representatives of law enforcement bodies and specialists of gas supply company to the place of accident.

At the moment, the restoration work is not being carried out due to the obstacles created by the Azerbaijani side.

Representatives of the Russian peacekeeping troops in Artsakh have been informed about the accident and the problem of gas supply, and negotiations are underway to start restoration work.

Obstructing the resumption of gas supply is proof of the intention of the Azerbaijani side to cause problems in the humanitarian sphere in Artsakh, to disrupt normal life,” the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh informs.

Ankara welcomes Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan’s decision to attend the Antalya Diplomatic Forum on March 11-13, Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tanju Bilgiç said.

“Such reciprocal steps will contribute to the expansion of dialogue between the two countries and the discussion of confidence-building measures for a full settlement,” the statement said.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu announced his invitation to take part in the forum in January. Armenian Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Vahan Hunanyan confirmed Minister Mirzoyan’s participation yesterday.

The special representative of the Armenia-Turkey normalization relations, Parliament Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan has also been invited to the forum, there is no official confirmation of his participation yet.

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan continues to spread misinformation about the opening of fire by the Armenian Armed Forces on the combat positions of Azerbaijani units on a particular section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

On March 8, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has spread an information that in the morning units of the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire on the combat positions of Azerbaijan located on the western direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. This information is incorrect, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia reports.

After the provocation of the Azerbaijani side in the same direction of the border on March 7, the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is relatively stable and is under full control of the Armenian Armed Forces. 

Artsakh Defense Army reports that the message of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry that units of the Artsakh Defense Army shelled Azerbaijani positions located in the north-eastern direction of Artsakh on March 7 at around 18:45 is another falsification of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry and an attempt to conceal its own violations of the ceasefire regime.
