The United States supports the early organization of the visit of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to the region, the U.S. Embassy in Armenia responded news.am, commenting on the statement of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev that Baku will continue to hinder the attempts of the OSCE Minsk Group to deal with the Karabakh conflict.

“As a Co-Chair of the Minsk Group, the United States is committed to continuing efforts for a long-term political settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. As noted in the latest statement of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries, we call on the parties to receive the Co-Chairs in the region as soon as possible, allowing them to assess the situation on the spot, record progress in solving urgent humanitarian problems and reach agreement on the agenda for further engagement,” the written response of the U.S. Embassy reads.
