Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan said in an interview with the Public TV that preparatory work is underway to address the CSTO․ “Of course, in May we applied to CSTO to solve the crisis, not enough efforts were made to solve the problem, but we will continue to work.”
When asked if Armenia is considering appealing to other international structures, Grigoryan said․ “Armenia believes that the situation can be solved through Russia and the CSTO structures, but if we can’t solve the current crisis with existing structures, then Armenia will be forced to resort to other structures, that is, to other international partners.”
Grigoryan also said that after the statement on November 9, hostilities stopped, but we can’t say that there was stability along the border, tension on the border continued․ “Recently, Azerbaijan, having not received its desire – the corridor, began to torpedo the entire negotiation process, even in the other direction, even in the direction of unblocking. Azerbaijan is trying to completely destabilize the process of peace or stability that has been going on, to create an unstable situation in the region.”
According to Grigoryan, Azerbaijan is not only trying to postpone the process of demarcation, delimitation, but also to disrupt the whole process, since Armenia was fully ready for the unblocking and demarcation of the border. “We have repeatedly stated that we are ready to start this process on the basis of legal documents that have existed since the Soviet Union. In this regard, the Armenian authorities have repeatedly stated at the high and highest levels that they are ready to go through this process, but Azerbaijan has periodically torpedoed, and today, being on the sovereign territory of Armenia, violates the possibility of creating an environment through which demarcation and demarcation can be carried out.”
