On November 1, the President of the RA National Assembly Alen Simonyan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway Helene Sand Andresen.

The sides discussed a number of issues regarding the development of the Armenian-Norwegian relations. Both parties highlighted the implementation of the programmes directed to the activation of the inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The RA NA President also underlined the necessity of deepening of collaboration of the two countries’ parliaments on the international different platforms.

The regional security and the stability was touched upon, in this context underlining the role of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship in the process of the comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. Alen Simonyan stressed the priority of the repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war and the civilians being kept in Azerbaijan.

During the talk the core themes were also democracy and human rights.
