On October 25, the delegation headed by the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides, the press service of the National Assembly reports.
The NA President highly appreciated the cooperation between the two countries in bilateral and multilateral formats. He stressed the importance of the early start of the Cyprus-Armenia-Greece parliamentary cooperation format, especially in the situation that has developed after the 44-day war. In this context, the sides exchanged views on regional security and stability.
The parties touched upon the Cyprus issue. The NA President noted that Armenia will continue to support Cyprus in international platforms and stands for a peaceful settlement of the problem through negotiations, taking the principles of UN resolutions as a basis. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus emphasized the invaluable role of the Armenian community in the public and political life of Cyprus.
